Appointments
We know you have many choices when choosing a doctor, so requesting an appointment is a simple process through our portal or by phone. If, for any reason, you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible. Charges may be incurred for appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.
Payment
We accept checks or credit cards. We also offer a flexible payment plan. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details.
Our office will do our best to collect your patient responsibility at the time of your visit, which oftentimes means collecting your co-pay for a specialist’s visit. However, due to the wide range of varying insurance plans and coverage, we may inadvertently charge an insufficient amount at your visit. We submit the appropriate codes to your insurance based on your issue or treatment, and if your co-pay was insufficient, we will, in those cases, send you a bill at a later date. We encourage you to know what your insurance will cover and what your co-payment, co-insurance, deductible, etc. are before your appointment. Thank you for understanding.
Insurance Plans
We are accepting most traditional insurance plans. We are currently able to see patients with the following insurances, with a few notes:
- AARP
- Aetna EPO, HMO, PPO, SRC, Global, Medicare Advantage, Employer Sponsored Plans, and ACA Marketplace Plans
- BlueCross BlueShield Outside the State of Maryland: If you plan’s “home state” is outside the state of Maryland, contact your member services to verify whether or not Potomac OB Gyn LLC is listed as a participating practice as well as our providers.
- CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield: HMO, PPO, FEP, NCAS, Medicare Advantage, Employer Sponsored Plans, and ACA Marketplace Plans
- Anthem BlueCross BlueShield of Virginia: Verify with your plan whether or not you have coverage with our practice
- Cigna EPO, HMO, APWU, NALC, Great West Health, International, Medicare Advantage, Employer Sponsored Plans, and ACA Marketplace Plans
- Medicare and Medicare Railroad
- Meritain Health
- Multiplan
- UMR
- United HealthCare: HMO, PPO, Oxford, Student Resources, Integrated Services, Medicare Advantage, Employer Sponsored Plans, Golden Rule, and ACA Marketplace Plans
- Others are in process, so please contact our office to inquire about status
Our practice is currently not participating with Medicaid or Medicaid Managed Care Plans known as MCOs.
It is the patient’s responsibility to verify whether Potomac OB Gyn LLC is a participating provider of their insurance plan. Patients can verify by calling their insurance member services number or visiting their insurance member portal. You may call our office for assistance as well. Qualifications for insurance coverage may differ due to the uniqueness of each policy and procedure.
